Instructions on how to install: After downloading the Zip Folder use Winrar to open and extract the contents. Please don't open or mess around with the contents of the files and folders. Then you select the unicorn icon to play the game.

Before anyone comments, I have tried other uploading websites but all of them cause my internet to slow down and every other internet requiring system (such as Skype and general internet browsing) goes down during the upload time which takes many hours.

You will also need to download and install the RTP (run-time-player) from this website: http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/run-time-packages
Make sure to specifically download the VX version, not VX Ace.

Game Controls

Move: Arrow keys

This is an image from the opening introduction of the game which introduces Reginald (Center), Megan (Left) and Isabella (Right).

 

 Even though the main characters already have names. Reginald and Megans names can be changed to the same as the player's and favourite pet's names which makes them more personal to the player.

This is a look at the battle screen for the game. It is a forward facing view system seen through the eyes of the characters so only the enemies can be seen. The health bar in the top left for the enemy name 'Evil Soldier' for now is not part of the original program and a coding script had to be sourced from elsewhere. This game has a few things like that in it that have been found that make it a more enjoyable experience for the player.

A Breif Description Of The Game And Story

This game is a few years in the making. Being casually put together during weekends, holidays, and sometimes after University. The main story is almost complete and a Beta test is available to play but it will be some time before the final story is finished and then all the extra's are added such as side quests and the NPC residents of the various towns that are in the game.

The story takes place on an Archipelago (island) called Volcana, and follows a young man named Reginald and his dog Megan, who's village of Min is attacked by a mysterious figure clad in dark armour. When they attempt to confront the figure they are attacked. Upon defeating the figure, Reginald calls out for his close friend Isabella whom he has been friends with for many years. After not hearing her reply and not finding her among the dead bodies of the villagers, Reginald concludes that she must have escaped and he begins his quest to find and possibly rescue her from whatever dangers she may have gotten herself mixed up in.

This blog will be purely focussed on the game I am making and my friend is writing; Goin' Grella.
It is a Fantasy Adventure RPG game with an overworld view like pokemon. I am making it using the game making software RPG Maker VX.
