I purchased RPG Maker VX Ace a while back, and looking at the upgrades in software content as well as loading speeds and such, it just seems like a good (though tedious) idea to start Goin' Grella from scratch in this new software.
This means that the slow progress of the game will now actually be stopped completely. But the current beta test won't be removed, it'll just be replaced when enough of the new version is made for a beta test to be viable.
So hopefully Onward and Upwards!
Goin' Grella
An RPG Maker VX full game project being done by two friends. One is the writer and the other is the game maker.

Renovations!
After a long sabbatical during which I moved to Japan and the game's writer began his next (and hopefully final) year of university, Goin' Grella has once again begun production, it has mostly been smoothing things out as usual, the towns have a new look now that the houses aren't just cardboard boxes with paint, and for the first time in a long time our primary beta tester (who is also the writer) has been able to progress close to the current stage of the game meaning that if the current end can be reached, the next part of the story can get under way!!!

First Beta Tester
Yay! Goin' Grella has had its first official Beta Tester who has given feedback!
Thanks to the feedback received the aesthetic qualities of the game have been improved and functionality of certain events and cutscenes have improved as well making the game smoother.
Most importantly, characters progress better in terms of leveling and skill learning and gold earning so the flow of the game has improved greatly.
Keep the feedback coming!

Action Time
I have been taught how to create an action system using RPG Maker's Variables to register the position of NPC's and the player and things like that, so there is now a mini game using this system for everyone to enjoy as my first bit of real practice.

Decoration!
Now that Goin' Grella is functioning more smoothly meaning people can beta test properly. Aesthetic upgrades can begin to move forward so that it looks prettier and no one will get bored too quickly!

Scavenger Hunt
Originally the hero of our game, Reginald, learned to summon spirits naturally as he leveled up, the same way everyone in an RPG learns new skills.
However, we decided that that's not how spirit's work, so now if you want more than the standard story spirits you need to go out and find them. Some are easy, some are difficult.
Have Fun!

Drastic Landscaping
After taking a true look at the forest maps of the game, It is obvious that they are too difficult for new players. So I burned down the trees and planted new ones in an easier layout.
If you think I'm going to post images to show the difference then you're crazy! That's cheating!
